My most
honored senior jennet. I first purchased a daughter
of Penny’s, (LaBahia Trail Miss Double Cross) a
gorgeous grey, consistent “Model Jennet”. Then I had
numerous opportunities to see other “Penny”
daughters. Like a lot of the older miniature donkeys
that are registered, but have little information to
go on, Penny had to prove what she had to offer the
future of the breed. Luckily, she was bred to
several different, but good jacks and produced some
of the nicest foals that you could hope for. I
originally took Penny to offer her a good retirement
home. The vet, that had known her longer than I had,
asked to do an ultra-sound to determine if
retirement was needed. The results were that she was
in very good health and breeding condition. And I
expect to get 2 or 3 foals before she is retired. I
have great appreciation for the “Marek” bloodlines
and have included them in several other breedings
with excellent results. I consider them great
foundation bloodlines. Based on Penny’s past, I have
bred her to “Z MO BETTA”, a black son of Circle C
Little Mo
Town. SMOKEY-MO (dark grey with black legs and
ears) arrived on September 27, 2009. Penny again has
produced a well balanced, well boned, very promising
foal.
